Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash. They weren’t carried by the folks in Nashville; they created their own journey and story. The music of those men has never been more alive than today, and Wyatt Lowe is carrying that torch.

Born and raised in the sunny skies and warm sandy beaches of Southern California, Wyatt Lowewas born into something that was beyond his years. From before he could legally drive a car, Wyatt had already become his own all-in-one, music-making machine. At the age of thirteen, Wyatt released his first record, and by the age of fifteen, he was on the road with his band touring the nation. Lowe was described as “both comfortable and credible in his role as a front man,” and the Youngbloods added fuel to that fire.

The blues became Wyatt’s foundation…

Thanks to his family’s BBQ and Blues restaurant, Chappy’s Roadhouse, where he soaked in performances from regional legends. Nicknamed “Sodapop” by the California blues scene for his youth, Wyatt quickly found himself sharing the stage with giants like blues guitar legend Anson Funderburgh, and B.B. King. By the time he relocated to the serene valley of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Wyatt’s sound had matured into a fusion of blues, rock, and Americana—a powerful, modern take on his classic influences. It is in Wyoming where Wyatt found a band, The Mayhem Kings. The band took the small town of Jackson by storm, opening for and sharing the stage with bands such as the legendary southern rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd, country great Robert Earle Keen and Lukas Nelson (Willie’s son), among others. During his three years in Wyoming, Lowe released two more records, planned and coordinated three US tours and became a rock-n-roll name across the northwest states.

Wyatt’s energy was potent and it was starting to burn a fire across the US.

Wyatt’s most recent album “Branded Heart” added a much-anticipated chapter to his story. Produced by Grammy® winning musician and producer, P.J. Olsson, Branded Heart showed the evolution of Wyatt’s songwriting, musicianship and guitar playing. The album boasts the guitar-playing-highs of songs like “New Road” and “Lucky”, all the way to introspective melancholic “Cry to Me” and “Lonely Highways.” It’s his most honest and most open chapter to date and challenges the previous narratives and musical direction of his work. With this album, Lowe clearly showed the future of his music and performance; unapologetically powerful, introspective, yet truthful to the roots. “Branded Heart felt like the culmination of years of trying to get a sound ‘right’. It didn’t feel forced; it finally felt like the road was clearing to let this story unfold both musically and lyrically.” And the road has just begun for Lowe. The now Utah-based songwriter and guitar-slinging frontman is now preparing for his next album release. “It’s like what hockey players say when they’ve won the Stanley Cup more than once. They get asked ‘Which cup is your favorite?’ and they always answer ‘The next one.’ That’s how I feel about my music; it doesn’t stop here,” Lowe says. When asked why he chose to reside in Utah, Lowe answers, “There’s something about the mountains, the four seasons and the serenity. California is always going to be ‘home’, but my family and I are incredibly happy here. It’s a slower pace of life than LA or Nashville, and it’s a great central location for touring. Honestly I feel like as a musician, I can ‘breathe’ a little here.”

So what’s next for Wyatt Lowe?

In the words of his first indie EP, “Songs from a Bottomless Well”, the music and journey has only begun. The well truly is bottomless, and with all the music that Wyatt continues to produce, it will never be enough to fully satisfy him. “I just have always had this ‘want’ to push myself further. I am so proud and humbled by where I’m at now and where everything has been put in my lap up until this point in time,” Wyatt appreciatively says. Even at his young age, Wyatt has paid his dues, and has created sustainable and real music in a time when one could argue that a lot of music is lacking in those qualities. Now with a family, kids, and a full day to day, Wyatt’s music feels as poised as ever to consistently leave listeners in awe and inspired with each new release. Just like the influences in his life, Wyatt demonstrates the willingness to work hard for what he gets in return. Wyatt continues to tour the nation as a hard-working musician as he paves his own way. And it’s paying off. Guys like Willie, Waylon, and Merle; they weren’t after fame, they were after something greater. Something ‘more,’ you might say. Wyatt Lowe has jumped onto that train and is in the driver’s seat.
